Motherhood as Givenness: Postpartum Sentences -- Digital Download
Motherhood as Givenness: Postpartum Sentences is a 16-page essay zine by Amy Bornman. The zine chronicles Amy’s first two months postpartum with her second baby in the form of sentences recorded in the notes app on her phone. The sentences together become a raw, poetic, and clear account of the many thoughts and feelings that may arise in tender weeks after birth.
“Little red round face, little red round mouth, little scream, little sleep breaths, little emergency inside my head.”
